Rod’s Books Now Available on the iPad and iPhone

This entry was posted by Rod on Friday, 5 November, 2010

All of Rod Machado’s books are now available as custom iPad and iPhone (3GS and 4, not 3G) applications, with unique capabilities. These are far more than just ordinary e-books for your iThing. With these apps, you will receive book updates any time Rod makes changes. No more having to purchase a new book every year to keep up with major changes in aviation.

Every word and illustration is there, for your reading and viewing pleasure. It’s all in vivid color, and easily portable. This is the optimal way to take Rod with you anywhere you go.

Each book has a detailed and easily referenced table of contents that provides direct access to any topic, and there is a comprehensive search feature that provides instant reference to specific words or phrases along with the page numbers, title and subchapter where those references are located. Bookmarks? You bet. You can bookmark any page for reference, too.

Read a full page at a time in portrait mode, or go to landscape mode for a larger view of a little less territory. Turn the page with at the flip of a finger, just as you do with a paper book, and enlarge any spot with the pinch gesture.

Purchasing any book app allows you to read it on both your iPad and iPhone. For those without an iPad (you know you want one, right?), you can read the book on the iPhone. This does require a bit of finger spreading, but for many pilots the iPhone is their go-to mobile device. Pocket or Pad, the choice is now yours. Click here to visit app page.

    Hi Rod

Just wanna say great stuff and am glad to see your books on ipda/iphone. been waiting for them.

Just one minor issue though I have first generation iphone and I get a error msg that my phone does not support the product.

    hope you can help.

  2. Would be great if I had an ipad to use it with. I can tolerate email and even web browsing with an iPhone, not sure about actually reading. Of course I’m looking for ipad justification, maybe this is it. But a Cessna 182 yoke might get in the way of the ipad, so perhaps I’d have to get a Cirrus SR22 to go along with it!

Rod: I just read your article in Feb issue of AOPA concerning LFIC. I am a (senior) pilot, 66years old and retired. I have accumulated just short of 300 hours of flying time plus an additional of 193 hours simulator. What you have proposed about reviving the LFIC

Rod: I just read your article in Feb issue of AOPA concerning LFIC. I am a (senior) pilot, 66years old and retired. I have accumulated just short of 300 hours of flying time plus an additional of 193 hours simulator. What you have proposed about reviving the LFIC hit home with me. For the past year and a half I have been trying to find a way to afford the price of a CFI ticket. Your article gave me a ray of hope that one day I will be able to become an instructor. I see myself”among the ranks of a new class of enthusiastic teachers whose main ambition is to share their love of flying with others and not JUST TO BUILD FLIGHT TIME”. I have also been a member of AOPA since 2001 and this is the first time I can remember someone making a positive statement that could positively effect the rank and file of general aviation. When and if the time arrives to revive LFIC I will be one of the first in line to accept the opportunity to increase the pilot population.

This doesn’t have much to do with the actual article, but may I please have a reason for there not being any public updates since November 2010, as I enjoy reading the updates?

    Greetings David:
I’ve been so busy with other projects that I’ve neglected my blog. I plan on taking care of that soon. Thanks for being a watchful reader.
    Best,
    Rod
