Reading Machado's Digital Editions Books (PDFs) on Your iPad Via the Bluefire Reader

If you have purchased the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) version of our ebooks, these DRM (Digital Rights Protected) protected PDFs can now be read on your iPad by using the free Bluefire Reader. Here's how to do this.

First, plug in your iPad and open iTunes (assuming that you don't have iTunes set up to automatically open when you connect your iPad).

Go to the Apple app store and download the free Bluefire Reader. You can also open your web browser and click on this link to open iTunes and download the Bluefire reader:

Click: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bluefire-reader/id394275498?mt=8

Once the Bluefire reader is downloaded then click on your iPad's name under "Devices" in the left panel of iTunes.

Now click on "Apps" in the menu at the top of iTunes.

Next, go to the bottom of the iTunes window and click on the Bluefire Reader icon.

This opens the iTunes Bluefire Reader Documents window. This is where you'll drag the PDFs that you downloaded from Adobe Digital Editions. Oh, I guess that means you have to find out where those PDFs are located, right?

If you're using Windows, the Digital Editions ebooks (or PDFs) that you downloaded are stored in the "...My Documents/My Digital Editions" folder on your hard drive as shown below. If you're using a Mac, the files are stored in a folder named "Digital Editions."

Open this folder and drag the Adobe Digital Editions PDF(s) to the Bluefire Reader Documents area with your mouse. Now all you have to do is Sync your iPad and the Adobe PDFs should be ready to read in the Bluefire Reader. So open the Bluefire Reader on your iPad and the books should be there.

It's as easy as that.

Best,
